Located near the coordinates provided lies St. Govan’s Chapel, a small chapel built into the cliffs of Pembrokeshire, Wales. Legend has it that St. Govan, a 6th-century monk, was being pursued by pirates when the cliffs miraculously opened up to hide him, creating a uniquely shaped cave that became his sanctuary. The pirates searched for him in vain, believing he had vanished. The chapel itself is said to have been built by Govan as a place of worship and thanks for his miraculous escape. It is believed that Govan lived in the cave and continued his religious practices there. To this day, visitors can still see the chapel and the supposed imprint of Govan’s knee on a rock near the entrance, a testament to the enduring power of the legend.
