Berry Pomeroy Castle, located near Totnes, in Devon, holds the unsettling reputation of being one of the most haunted castles in Britain. One spirit that is often reported is the White Lady, a sorrowful specter who haunts the dark dungeons and empty towers. Legend has it that she is the ghost of Lady Margaret Pomeroy, who was supposedly imprisoned in the dungeon by her jealous sister, Eleanor.
